Your device either Flash Drive, USB Thumb Drive, External Hard Disk Drive, Memory Card or other storage media show that it is empty when opened but in my computer or some other explorer software shows that the contents of the device or removable media are intact however they cannot be seen or used when needed.
Solution is quite easy;
Before you begin make sure you have the device scanned and removed for viruses.
Step 1
Open an ADMINISTRATOR COMMAND PROMPT you can achieve this by clicking your start menu and typing CMD in the search located at the bottom of the start menu
When the black coloured icon appears right click it and select RUN AS ADMINISTRATOR
Step 2
Note the drive letter of the storage media in question by checking the letter associated with it in MY COMPUTER.
Step 3
In the command prompt type X: and press enter where X=is the drive letter for your device with the issue
Step 4
The command prompt should look like this now
X:\>
Step 5
Simply type or copy the below command, paste and press enter to execute
ATTRIB -R -A -S -H /S /D
Allow a few seconds to execute and all your files should be visible.
Hope this solves your problem
