QSAT 23G | HOW TO CONNECT USING 3G | CONNECT HUAWEI MODEM TO QSAT 23G

QSAT  Decoders seem to be having various problems the past few weeks or so especially with the latest issue of the decoder showing "NETWORK CONNECTION SUCCESS" and then not connecting to the server. This issue is very upsetting especially when you have spent funds on installation and your enjoyment is stalled by some seemingly small problem that seems not to go away or fix itself, the issue just seems to go on and on. Well I'm here to help you out if you are having trouble or are asking questions like "why is Qsat always having a problem on load even when if the sim card is inside" or are wondering "how to connect wifi to Qsat 23G" all as a result of the internal sim not working on the Qsat 23G.

FIRST THINGS FIRST

If you have not upgraded your decoder to the latest firmware version then you should do so after properly reading the article on upgrading your Qsat decoder firmware by clicking the link below.

If you are sure your decoder is running the lastest firmware i.e. 6.3 than you can continue reading this article in order to be able to get your decoder connected using your 3G modem.

HOW TO CONNECT 3G TO QSAT 23G

The solution to the latest Qsat 23G issue of not connecting when the sim is inside or it connects by showing NETWORK CONNECTION SUCCESS and then remains showing SCRAMBLE CHANNEL can easily be solved by connecting via a 3G usb modem (HUAWEI MODEMS SEEM TO BE THE ONLY ONES THAT WORK AT THE MOMENT) which at the moment seems to be the best solution to your viewing problems.

HOW TO DO THE 3G SETUP

Its actually a very simple process once you've handled your decoder for a day and browsed though the menu

Step 1

Plug your HUAWEI 3G MODEM  to your decoder either front usb port or the one behind, any of the ports can serve for the purpose

Step 2

Press Menu on your Qsat 23G remote and browse to the SETTING option press OK on the remote to enter the settings then scroll down to ETHERNET CONFIG

Step 3

On selecting ETHERNET CONFIG, change the LINK TYPE to 3G NETWORK  and select OK on your remote to save your selection.

Step 4 

Scroll down to CONFIG and select, in the list of countries however if your country is not listed then just select the country closest to your location which in Nigeria's case would be EGYPT leave the OPERATOR and APN fields as they are.

Step 5

Power down/Turn Off your device allow for a few seconds and power up, give it the few seconds it needs to connnect and yur viewing eperience should be up and running again.
