PC start-up time from power on to desktop display known as boot time is measured in seconds and when your system takes a couple of minutes to boot then you should know you have a problem which should be fixed in the shortest time possible.

So straight to the point,

HOW DO I DISABLE STARTUP PROGRAMS THAT SLOW DOWN MY PC?

Quite simple actualy just follow the following steps and you'll be done in no time:

FOR WINDOWS XP

 STEP 1

Go to the START MENU and select run

STEP 2

In the run dialog box type MSCONFIG.EXE

STEP 3

When the Computer configuration utility window opens select the STARTUP tab and uncheck all the applications you do not want to startup with your system.

STEP 4

Next go to the  SERVICES tab and check the box beside HIDE ALL MICROSOFT SERVCES, after  that is done uncheck all services you do not wish to run at startup

STEP 5

When done OK and restart your PC. Boot time should be much faster now.

FOR WINDOWS 7, 8, 8.1

STEP 1

Go to the START MENU and type MSCONFIG without clicking clicking anything, the Microsoft configuration utility should show as a search result click to select

STEP 2

When that is done follow STEP 3 to STEP 5 above

Hope your boot time problems are solved after reboot.

Cheers,
Ponsak.
