If your Laptop or Desktop computer system is slowing down and you cannot pinpoint the reason its very easy to blame it on a virus. Sometimes this is actually true but at other times a virus may not be the issue. So in a few simple steps I'll show you how to be sure of the cause of the reduced performance

WHERE TO START

To start the check simply press and hold these three keys CTRL+SHIFT+ESC on you PC this will bring out the computer's Task manager the utility through which we will monitor system performance.

STILL ON THE ISSUE OF VIRUSES AND PERFORMANCE


On the task manager utility select the performance tab (This test is best done 5-10minutes after reboot)

Check the performance of the computer's processor, if the system has finished loading all start up items the CPU usage should not go beyond 10% no matter what, should this happen then you are sure to have viruses or other unwanted applications in your system or attached to your startup.
