My Hp Dv6 is not charging

Most of the faults related to charging is caused by either a faulty power jack, faulty adapter or from the charger controller chip on the motherboard. Most times it is usually from the charger controller chip, which doesn't sense an AC in signal.

How to detect the source of the fault
For advanced PC Technicians, you will need a digital multimeter to confirm the voltage input from
the adapter usually the adapter for this PC has two voltage input sources and one ground source, if one of the voltage inputs is missing the system may power but wont charge, you can confirm this voltage input my calibrating your digital meter to read for dc-input, so check the inner pin with reference to ground for a voltage reading for a reading between 17-19volts.
Your charger controller uses the voltage from the inner pin as an AC-in signal to trigger the charger circuit to start charging the battery.
