Source of the problem
The source of this problem usually come from either of the following two;
1. Operating System
2. System Hardware
Operating System;
This fault arises primarily form an Operating System (OS) which is infected by various viruses, trojans, worms or other unwanted apps or scripts running on your PC which affect the ability of your OS to properly detect and utilize a USB device.So if you’re device begins to act up make sure your system is free from unwanted intrusions. You can get a free scan from here, and personally I recommend using bitdefender free antivirus if you cannot afford to buy the full version. You can download the free version from here and the full paid version from here.
I would recommend you try solving the problem before you rush into formatting or reinstalling the OS. Try the following steps below
1.Locate the computer (My Computer or This PC) Icon on your desktop or from the start menu
2. Right click and click Manage
3. When the computer management utility window opens, select device manager
3. Check to make sure that everything is properly installed
4. if you notice a caution sign of any of the items check to make sure the item is not the hardware you have connected to the pc which has issues.
5. If the device has a caution sign beside it then its either non functional or the appropriate device driver has not been installed, to install the driver simply right click and select update driver, allow the PC search online for the driver and you should get the device working properly.
6. If all your device drivers are properly installed and the device, still acts up, then at this point a complete format and reinstallation of the operating system is the next step. for procedure on how to do this click here.
System Hardware.
Your PC uses the OS to allow you to commuinicate with the various hardware components therein, it is therefore possible that the hardware either the usb device or the Hardware component responsible for this on your motherboard is faulty. so if after a full format and reistallation the problem persists, indicate in your comment below and we’ll see if we can put you through a hardware fix if the problem is not too tricky to explain otherwise we’ll refer you to qualified technical personell.Cheers,
Ponsak.
