In the age of ever growing technology and the availability of information on the internet concerning several issues affecting hardware and software, it is very easy to get half-baked and sometimes very wrong information which causes more harm than good.
Now on the subject of formatting and re installation it is paramount to state here that formatting is the process of simply wiping a hard drive or other storage media of its contents. Re installation of the Operating System on the other hand is the process of installing an operating system to a formatted  media or an unformatted one. So to format means you’ll loose all you files and have a clean Installation, which is what you’ll achieve if you follow the steps below. If you want to still want to keep your files follow the guidelines here.
Proper Reinstallation.

A few years back all systems came with recovery disks and then suddenly stopped. This was because the recovery media was now a partition on your hard drive, however it is still possible to make a set of recovery disks on your own as soon as you buy your new PC if you have not done so already. If you made the recovery disks now is the time to use them, if you did not, you can create them or use the inbuilt recovery.

Using Recovery disks

To use a set of recovery disks follow the following steps

step 1

Insert the disk and restart your pc

Step 2

When the system reboots it should boot from the disk, if it does not click here

step 3

Simply follow and accept all terms and conditions

Step 4

choose the option that wipes and restores your original OS

Step 5

Sit back and wait for the system to do it for you and make sure you’ve got power and are around to change the disks when the system requests.

Using The inbuilt Recovery Partition

Most people think that the mode using the recovery partition is to download or buy a cd install and search the recovery partition for drivers and normally they end up spreading the message about the recovery partition being useless which is absolutely not true. Below is the proper way to use the inbuilt recovery partition.

Step 1

Know the recovery key that controls your PC’s recovery. below is a non-exhaustive list
1. Hp- F11
2. Samsung- F4
3. Acer-
4. Toshiba
5. IBM/Lenovo

Step 2.

Power on the PC and repeatedly press the appropriate key

Step 3.

If pressed correctly the system should boot into the recovery mode of your pc and allow you to choose appropriately the mode of recovery

Step 4.

Choose to recovery with backup if you choose to back up your documents the manufacturer way, however i prefer to backup my stuff personally before i do a recovery.

Step 5.

Choose recovery without backup if you have already backed up your files.

Step 6

Sit back and relax as your system does the Format and OS reinstallation for you.

Well guys, hope this helps to solve whatever problem you had.
